Volunteer Life Saving Corps
Friends of the Corps
Friends of the Corps is the dedicated community of supporters who stand behind the Volunteer Life Saving Corps (VLSC) and help sustain a lifesaving tradition that began in 1912. For more than a century, the Corps has protected Jacksonville Beach through volunteer service, rigorous training, and a deep commitment to public safety. Friends of the Corps is the partnership that ensures this legacy continues for the next generation.
When you join Friends of the Corps, you are not just making a donation — you are becoming part of a historic mission. You are helping provide the training, equipment, certifications, and operational support that empower volunteer lifeguards to respond in any emergency regardless of time or place.
Volunteer Life Saving Corps
The Three Pillars
Preservation of a Legacy
Supporting more than 100 years of uninterrupted lifesaving tradition, history, and service at Jacksonville Beach. Friends help maintain the history of the Coprs, protect institutional knowledge, and uphold a legacy shared by generations of volunteers.
Investment in Lifesaving Excellence
Your support funds CPR, EMR, and advanced training; strengthens rescue readiness; and helps provide the critical gear and certifications volunteers need to serve safely and effectively. Friends ensure every lifeguard has what they need the moment someone’s life depends on them.
Community Commitment
Friends of the Corps is a partnership between the Corps and the community it protects. Supporters champion water safety, advocate for our mission, and help build a stronger, safer Jacksonville Beach for residents and visitors alike.
